While The Beauty Chef have always been the pioneers of inner beauty—we’re super excited that with the recent launch of GLOW F.A.C.E (our intensive rejuvenating face oil), we’re also pioneering what’s possible with outer beauty.

As a multitasking supernutrient formula—GLOW F.A.C.E is so much more than a face oil and is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, firm and tone the skin whilst nourishing the skin microbiome and strengthening its natural barrier. It also contains over 20 nutrient-rich plant extracts—like Kakadu plum and sea buckthorn berry—vitamins A, C and E, as well as bakuchiol, vegan squalene and a unique fermented prebiotic and postbiotic extract. And the results (which we’ll delve into below) speak for themselves!

Given GLOW F.A.C.E takes a step away from our inner beauty powders and elixirs, we’ve curated a list of some of the most common questions we’ve been asked since its launch. So if you’re confused about the formula, how to integrate it into your routine or simply what its benefits are, read on because we’ve got you covered.

Does GLOW F.A.C.E Replace GLOW?

While GLOW F.A.C.E is not intended to replace GLOW, the two work synergistically together for a complete 360 GLOW experience. GLOW is your essential daily inner beauty blend formulated to promote more radiant skin from the inside out whilst also nourishing your gut, supporting your immune health, revitalising your energy and overall wellbeing—while GLOW F.A.C.E takes care of your skin on a topical level, infusing your complexion with a unique combination of ingredients that work to tone, firm and nourish your skin. They do have similarities though in the sense that both integrate prebiotic and postbiotic technology into their formulas—with GLOW containing an abundance of prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics to support your gut microbiome and promote greater microbial diversity (thanks to our exclusive bio-fermentation process, Flora Culture™)—and GLOW F.A.C.E containing a unique fermented prebiotic and postbiotic extract (Biome Oleactif™) which helps to nurture the beneficial bacteria on the surface of the skin, promoting increased microbial diversity which in turn, strengthens and supports the skin’s natural barrier function. So you see, by using both GLOW and GLOW F.A.C.E in combination, you can support both of your body’s key ecosystems—your gut microbiome and your skin microbiome.

Can I Use GLOW F.A.C.E If I Have Oily Skin?

This is undoubtedly one of the most commonly asked questions—and it certainly makes sense given the common misconception that oily or acne-prone skin types should avoid using oil-based products—but the answer is a resounding yes! While avoiding adding another layer of oil to already oily skin seems like the right thing to do—the key in managing oily skin is actually to help balance the skin’s natural oils and production of sebum, instead of stripping it away completely. Often, congested skin types tend to opt for harsh cleansers and stripping solutions that provide that ‘squeaky’ clean feeling—but this can actually result in our skin going into overdrive, producing excess sebum to compensate and subsequently clogging pores even further.

While every oily skin type has its own unique triggers and treatment needs, the key to embracing the healing powers of oils is to choose oils that are proven to be non-comedongenic—aka, those formulated to not block pores. Some good examples include rosehip, jojoba, camellia seed and argan—all of which can be found in GLOW F.A.C.E.

Still, if you’re nervous about trying facial oils due to experiencing oily or acne-prone skin, the best thing to do is patch test. It can be a case of trial and error to find the right lightweight oil for your specific skin concerns—so with GLOW F.A.C.E, we recommend starting with a smaller amount of product, perhaps 1–2 drops and diluting with a little water before patting gently into the skin.

What Results Will I Actually See?

As a consumer, what you really want to know is how a particular product is going to deliver results you can see! And the good news is that prior to launching GLOW F.A.C.E, we conducted a consumer trial so we could hear exactly what people thought of our revolutionary new product. Here’s what you need to know:

  • 96% of participants said their skin appeared to be more hydrated and supple since using the product
  • 93% of participants said their skin appeared to be more healthy and glowing since using the product
  • 95% noticed an improvement in skin dryness since using the product
  • 89% of participants noticed an improvement in skin plumpness after 30 days

What Does The F.A.C.E In GLOW F.A.C.E Stand For?

At The Beauty Chef, fermentation is intrinsic to our brand and in every formula, we look to harness the powers of prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics to promote more glowing skin, support gut health, immunity and overall wellbeing. Whilst our inner beauty powders and elixirs do this from within, with GLOW F.A.C.E we wanted to utilise this ‘biotic’ technology by including fermented extracts in our final formula as they are proven to help nourish the skin’s delicate microbiome and strengthen its natural barrier. As a play on words and to reflect this philosophy, F stands for fermented, while A.C.E correlates with the inclusion of vitamins A, C and E in our final blend.

Is The Packaging Recyclable?

At The Beauty Chef, we remain committed to utilising more sustainable and recyclable resources in our processes—and with GLOW F.A.C.E we were thrilled to be able to use recyclable glass to house our nourishing formula.

Where Does GLOW F.A.C.E Sit In My Skincare Routine?

To keep it simple, we like to cleanse and tone before applying GLOW F.A.C.E—but for those who love a more in-depth skincare routine, you can apply GLOW F.A.C.E after any serums you choose to use (think hyaluronic acid and vitamin C or brightening serums etc) and before moisturiser, if you require further hydration. Still confused? We’ve written a whole blog about it!
